I consider Paris as a greater and wiser man, because he thinks for what is good and shows wisdom in everything he does. I say this because when Paris asks Menelaus for a duel, he already knew that Menelaus is a much greater warrior than him but still he challenge Menelaus for a duel, this shows that Paris is ready to sacrifice himself for the good of others and for the good of his city rather than putting his own city in vain and shows that he fully understands the benefits and disadvantages of his act. I can say that Paris doesn’t do that just to show off, because if he is just showing off, maybe when Menelaus started attacking him, he might just run and escape but instead he challenged Menelaus with whole heart and I believe that when you offer your life for others, God will always reward you.

Many people can be compared to Paris but for me Efren PeƱaflorida is the modern day Paris, as we all know he is the CNN hero of the year 2009. He is the one who created the “Kariton Classroom” in which hundreds of children learns and gains knowledge from it. Despite of Efren being also one of less fortunate man, he still manages to do this extraordinary thing, this shows that Efren is willing to sacrifice for the good of others like Paris. The sacrifices, hardships and efforts which he exerted has been rewarded with a much greater thing that he never expects and this depicts that Efren PeƱaflorida is a wise man because he understands what our country needs and that is proper education. Even though he does not have the funds to build a school he still push through and made an alternative, wisdom indeed is what he shows.

Good analogy between Paris and Sir Efren!

It's good to note that your choice, as to who is nobler,is not the expected. You have managed to see the good intention behind the challenge posted by Paris against Menelaus, that is to save his people and probably also to rectify his wrongdoing ( of abducting Helen). Most often than not, people fail to see the innate goodness of a man simply because he has been pre-judged by many as "bad". Too sad if this will continue.

Anyway, this is a good start,Renz. I hope to see more in-depth discussion next week!
